New Reviews – Two Violinists, Two Concerts – Perlman and Vengerov

Happy New Year everyone! To kick off the new year, here’s two more concerts I attended towards the end of 2015. Both featured amazing violinists with different repertoire, tone and styles. First was Izak Perlman in recital, here, and second was Maxim Vengerov with the HK Philharmonic orchestra, with guest conductor, Yu Long, here.

What to do with the rest of 2015’s concerts I didn’t manage to get up here? I’m still considering. Perhaps there should be a grand recap to close out what’s missing. Even if I don’t manage to do that, at least I hope I’ve made it clear that, unless you’re living in a hole, you can’t honestly say, or accept someone else saying, that Hong Kong is a cultural desert.
