Eduardo Galeano – RIP

One of the world’s great non-fiction writers has died. Uruguay’s greatest export, Eduardo Galeano, was one of South America’s greatest writers and one of the best historians ever. His three volume, Memory of Fire, tells the entire history of occupied America in his unique ‘fuzzy logic’ style. Other remarkable books include, Open Veins of Latin America and World Cup reading, Football/Soccer in Sun and Shadow, after which you cannot watch Sepp Blatter, or anything FIFA, without needing a vomit bag.

A second sorrowful RIP this year for another loss to the world of an exceptionally great writer.
